To launch the 2022 program of courses and coaching Groups, a networking event took place on March 15th, 2022. More information on that page
Aims of coaching groups
- To support scientists in their career planning process and to allow participants interchanging and improving personal networking
- To make participants aware of possible alternatives to academic careers
- To support them in decision reframing, in creativity processes, in getting over past conflicts, help them reflecting their own situation
- To support them in applying for new jobs (how to improve application documents, preparation for interviews)

Coaching groups will take place if the minimum number participants is reached.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations latest one week before the start of the coaching group and in case of illness or force majeure, the participants will be reimbursed.Additional individual coaching session
Participants from each coaching groups are eligible to ask their coaching group trainer for an individual coaching session. These individual sessions cost an extra CHF 50.-Commitments and duties

Coaching Group with Dr. Ingrid Le Duc Mondays September 12; October 3; November 7; November 21; December 5 from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm Location: EPFL The group will decide on the format to follow on the first session Target Group: Doctoral Students & Postdocs Focused on skills transfer for PhD and Post-Docs in STEM disciplines, These interactive coaching sessions are designed to build your confidence and boost your self-assurance and autonomy as a researcher. We will work on different scenarios of application such as: negotiating your role in the lab, making decisions on your research projects, and building on your strengths and independence for your career in scientific research. Coaching Group with Dr. Verity Elston CANCELLED, Target Group: Doctoral Students & Postdocs Focused on career choices within or beyond academia, with this coaching, we will plot the lines of our professional journeys after the postdoc or PhD. Rather than imagining paths with a specific destination, we will turn instead to way-finding: taking small steps forward by understanding who and where we are in the present moment; gathering information and prototyping ideas for where we might go and what we might do next; and building the tools to open the next chapter with curiosity and excitement.
